  • Comment: There are lots of cool pictures in this article that could accompany this hook. (The one of Wadi Rum is probably my favorite.) BobAmnertiopsisChatMe! 22:58, 1 September 2016 (UTC)
@Bobamnertiopsis: I agree. Makeandtoss (talk) 08:35, 2 September 2016 (UTC)
  • This newly promoted GA meets the DYK newness and length criteria, and I must congratulate the nominator on bringing it to GA status. Well done! The image is appropriately licensed and the hook facts are cited inline. The article seems to be neutral to me. I have made no attempt to check for copyright issues. If the hook is still factual, a more current reference is needed for it. The date of the supporting source is 2013. A lot has happened in the world in the last 3 years. — Maile (talk) 16:02, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

One example @Maile66:. Makeandtoss (talk) 20:18, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Makeandtoss What you have linked requires my email address for me to read. I'm not giving that out - that requirement raises all kinds of alarms. I see the title "The Strangely Stable Kingdom of Jordan", but that in and of itself does not back up the hook. Do yourself a favor, because I can see this coming up either by a potential promoter, while it's in Prep or Queue, or even the main page. DYK is currently doing a voluntary trial run Here. Right here at the bottom of the template for the promoter, put a quote from the source where it states the fact, and put a link to that source. The source also needs to be in the article at the end of the sentence the hook is from. And please use something from 2016. — Maile (talk) 20:44, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
@Maile66: The country is safe, stable, and for all intents and purposes, a prosperous middle income country. Locals joke that their fortune is due to the lack of fortune in Jordan — it is one of the few countries in the Middle East without oil. Whatever the reason, Jordan remains a beacon of hope in a region that has seen virtually nothing but turmoil in the last several decades. Makeandtoss (talk) 21:11, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
Thank you. Good job. I hope somebody uses this as a lead hook. That's an awesome picture. And congratulations on getting this through the GA process. — Maile (talk) 21:17, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
