General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Article new enough, long enough, and passes earwig. NYT source is paywalled, but other citations in the article support otherwise. No close paraphrasing was found, and the hook is interesting, cited inline, and verified. QPQ done. Suggestion, maybe replace the second mention of Kentucky and replace with state or set a new rainfall record there to avoid repetition. Nom good to go otherwise. @Pseud 14: thanks for the suggestion! Have tweaked the hook. :) Tails Wx 16:57, 29 July 2023 (UTC)
Record in KY is preliminary until vetted by the NCEI, which is unlikely until 2024. As such I added preliminary.72.68.134.254 (talk) 22:41, 31 July 2023 (UTC) (Striking comment from blocked SOCK. The Weather Event Writer (Talk Page) 15:32, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
