  • Long enough and new enough (708 characters Nov. 26th to 4108), QPQ done, Article cited well and plagiarism check of Kuykendall source and Kamakau source found no hits, so meets policy. Image check is good on all accounts. Hook facts sourced each relevant sentence. Hook issue: the hook is good, but I see what you are saying, it doesn't flow quite right. Here are some proposed alternatives (longest 193 characters), just say if you like any or if they get you thinking about another alternative and this is good to go.   • I think Alt1 with "partially" removed is the best since the kidnapping was a big part of the reason why Cook was killed along with the news of the death another chief.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 22:01, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

  • The Family tree section gives dates for Kānekapōlei. These are problematic for two reasons: first, because the article doesn't, and if there aren't adequate sources for the article, there certainly aren't for the family tree. Second, the date is impossible: she is listed as having died before Kamehameha I, with whom she had a son, was born. This needs to be reconciled before the article can proceed further.   • Fixed it. Those dates for the birth and death of Keawe II when I copied and paste some section of the family tree from List of monarchs of Hawaii. Her exact dates are not known.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 19:30, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
