Kwakiutl sculpture in its current home, Chinguacousy Park.

  • ... that the City of Brampton moved the statue Kwakiutl behind plants, into a greenhouse, after his genitals raised a flap?
  • Reviewed: Kate Gynther, Melissa Rippon, Rebecca Rippon
  • Comment: Could this DYK posting be delayed until the 40th anniversary of the statue's unveiling, July 19? Not only will this be of extra relevance, being on the anniversary, but I expect to have a few more sources in the mix by then, perhaps have it up to GA quality.

Article: Not new enough (created 21 February, nominated 5 March; DYKs should be nominated within 5 days of creation or expansion). Long enough, well referenced (indeed!). Not going to go further as the date is a deal breaker.
Summary: A very interesting article and a fine GA, but sadly not new enough for DYK. Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:18, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
I vote to treat this one as eligible. Yes, it was nominated 2 weeks late, but the nomination was in good faith -- and some nominations have been here for months, what with delays in review, getting pulled out of queues, etc. --Orlady (talk) 03:36, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
