List of places of worship in Rother[edit]

(edit nomination page)

St Nicholas' Church at Cliff End, Pett Level—a former Lifesaving Rocket Apparatus Station

  • ... that churches in the English district of Rother include a former Lifesaving Rocket Apparatus Station (pictured)?

Maitreya Buddhis center, the only non-Christian place of worship in Rother

  • Hook: Interest is good (rockets and churches...), fact is sourced. I would like to suggest a couple alts. ALT1: ... that of the places of worship in the English district of Rother, only one (pictured) is not for Christian use? or ALT2 ... that of the places of worship in the English district of Rother, only one (pictured) is not a church?
Article: Length is fine, date is fine. Well illustrated. AGF on paraphrasing issues, as most heavily used sources are offline. Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:30, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Summary: Feedback on the ALTs would be appreciated. I suggest nominating this for Featured List as well. Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:30, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your review. The ALTs are good as well, but I would still prefer the original for two reasons: (1) It's a unique situation, whereas the ALT fact is more generic and could equally be applied to to other districts/boroughs: in fact I'm tempted to use it when I do my next list (List of places of worship in Chichester district), because the same situation applies there! (With this interesting building.) (2) Technically, one has to take care when using the term "church", because some Christian groups explicitly avoid that term for their places of worship (e.g. Jehovah's Witnesses). I could imagine some pedantic, but accurate, comments being made on the Talk page or elsewhere! Many thanks for the suggestions anyway. Hassocks5489 (tickets please!) 07:51, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Okay, original is good to go. I figured that not all denominations used church, so I took extra care with ALT1. Buddhist Monastery sounds so hooky Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:11, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
