... that Thomas Harrison's earliest commission was for Skerton Bridge in Lancaster (pictured), the first large public bridge in England to have a flat roadway, and his last commission was for Grosvenor Bridge in Chester, which has the longest masonry arch in Britain?

on both lengths, offline sources accepted in good faiths, and ages of articles. Only query is hook for bridge - I can't visualise what it means, does this mean a flat bridge instead of a bowed one? Casliber (talk · contribs) 08:20, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Yes, I struggled with this wording; originally it was "flat" and I changed it (I found both terms in the sources), so I think I got it wrong! Would you prefer to change "horizontal" to "flat" — that would be OK by me. --Peter I. Vardy (talk) 09:17, 9 December 2011 (UTC)
