Review New enough, long enough, timely nominated. Earwig is clear. No apparent close paraphrasing or copy violation. Hook features another significant break in the glass ceiling, and in that way it is an important first. Rising to the top on this macho environment is a big deal!

OTOH, we have a lot of DYKs pending that look more or less alike. I don't want anyone to think I am being dismissive of the personal/professional accomplishment or the institutional sea change. The hook is a bare statement of fact. Maybe we should embellish? But the hook is supported by in line/on line WP:RSs, including at least one I personally added that is more than an army press release. Picture is in the public domain, taken by a U.S. Army photographer. Is clear at 100 px. The other picture in the article is less formal and in some ways more interesting and is also public domain. I will also mention that a lot of the WIR articles, like this one, are WP:Orphans. That is not really a DYK problem, but it is a systemic wikipedia and societal problem. Maybe we should open up a woman's only orphanage. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 21:16, 25 November 2017 (UTC)#

Hi 7&6=thirteen, thanks for the review and comments. I added in some links so the article is no longer an orphan. A couple of suggestions for ALT hooks if the original is too "firsty", but my preference is for the original - Dumelow (talk) 00:07, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
