Margarita Höhenrieder[edit]

Created by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 10:25, 3 May 2018 (UTC).

  • Article creation date and filing date okay. Article length okay at 2306 B (337 words) readable prose size. Article is neutral and sourced. No copyvio issues appear to me. Hook length is well under the limit, neutrality fine, cited to German language source. Hook is on the dull side, but I don't see a better alternative. An image would have been nice, but I don't see any on Commons or Flickr. QPQ done.
  • @Gerda Arendt: I do see a few writing issues. The first sentence seems to be missing an "and" and the second sentence should be "has performed" lest it give the impression she has retired. Similarly, several other sentences should use a "has" to indicate she is still doing these activities. There is a stray "das" in the fourth paragraph. In the CDs list there are several entries with Julius Berger, but it isn't clear what he is – an arranger, a conductor, a soloist on some other instrument? One cat could be refined to Category:German classical pianists and the cat Category:Women pianists could be added. Wasted Time R (talk) 03:01, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
Thank you, both. Tense things fixed (the typical Germans' mistakes, sorry), also "das" removed, - Berger is a cellist, as explained further up, - I added some other instruments there, and his article will come. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:30, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Even though Berger is described earlier, I think it would still be useful to add "(cellist)" after the first mention of him in the CDs section – that's what you do with Sadlo, for instance. Also, in the main text, no indication is given for what Kit Armstrong and Reiner Wehle do. And what about the suggestions regarding categories? Wasted Time R (talk) 11:28, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
I did it for Salo, because he wasn't mentioned before. But as you wish. Our recordings sections will get long if we do that for all performers. - I translated (because she was such a long re link, have no idea what the others do (yet). - Don't you think you're wasting your time, - by the time you ask to remove "das" you could have deleted it, for example. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:44, 4 May 2018 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: I passed the DYK with my first comment since it met the criteria. Everything after that is just my ideas of how the article might be better for the reader, you are welcome to follow or ignore them as you see fit. You have done the work on the article, not me, so you should be the one making the editorial judgements. So edit summaries like "please the reviewer" are wholly unnecessary and go ahead and revert those changes if you don't like them (and I should not have mentioned the categories suggestion a second time). As for making changes directly myself, I have annoyed a few editors when I do but I have annoyed a few others when I don't. I tend to review DYK new articles like they are up for GA and that has annoyed some people too. But one time I decided to give a DYK article with idiosyncratic cite formatting a pass, the DYK promoter admonished me for not flagging it in the review. So it's hard to know. But despite this I always enjoy reviewing DYKs because I find out things I never knew before. And when I see one of yours I always know it will be well done. Thank you. I follow the same approach, - just these little things - like an extra word from translation - I take away rather than formulate a sentence, - call it laziness ;) - I found the list of artists she played with alphabetical, so - if I had time I would sort it now by instrument, rather than repeating pianist 3 times. But, sorry, I won't have time this weekend. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:19, 5 May 2018 (UTC)
