Max Carey[edit]

Max Carey's 1912 baseball card

5x expanded by Muboshgu (talk), EricEnfermero (talk). Nominated by Muboshgu (talk) at 21:34, 7 November 2014 (UTC).

  • 5× expansion of 6 October 2014 version completed from 1,548 characters to 7,787 and nominated 5 days later. Duplication detector check of online sources [1][2][3] and quick read through the others (that either can't go through Dup detector or don't contain prose) reveal no close paraphrasing issues (waiving direct quotes and applying WP:LIMITED). Article is well-sourced. Hook is 67 characters long (ALT1 is 66); both are under the 200 character max. limit and are interesting. Image is free and in public domain. Ref 1 (verifying both main and ALT1) is a reliable source from the SABR. QPQ done. Looks good to go! —Bloom6132 (talk) 02:41, 25 November 2014 (UTC)
  • I like the first hook, but it's lacking an inline cite. Yoninah (talk) 11:44, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
  • It's cited. At the end of the "Minor league baseball" section: "Able to make a career in baseball, Carey decided to drop out of Concordia.[1]" – Muboshgu (talk) 21:13, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks. I missed that. Restoring tick. Yoninah (talk) 22:23, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
