Millepora alcicornis[edit]

The sea ginger (Millepora alcicornis)

  • ... that if the sea ginger coral (pictured) detects a sea fan growing nearby, it will send out "attack" branches to eventually smother it?

Created/expanded by Cwmhiraeth (talk). Nominated by Rcej (talk) at 07:04, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

  • Photo checks out. Article is long enough and meets the creation/expansion requirement. Neutral. One source question: what makes you think "Coralmania" passes wp:RS?

Hook: interesting, AGF on source. until source question is addressed. No copyright or plagiarism issues. Albacore (talk) 01:31, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

  • The Coralmania source is a magazine in the arena of avocational and scientific interest of coral and the associated environment, and is sourced by a journal and print bibliography. By what is the claim of unreliability being asserted? Rcej (Robert)talk 02:32, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
By the claim that the magazine doesn't have a WP article, and the site doesn't look like a reliable source. However, after a search on google scholar, the source is used in other reliable works, so this passes. Albacore (talk) 01:22, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
