Source: "In 1982 register historian Katrina McDougall compiled a report on Mintaro Slate Quarries. At the conclusion of Katrina’s report she stated, “The Mintaro Quarry is the oldest continuously functioning quarry in South Australia and in the opinion of Mr David Young of the Mines and Energy Department, possibly in Australia.”" [1]

Problem here: you are slightly short of a 5x expansion. Needs another 200 or so more characters. Suggest expanding the lead to meet this. I have reformatted you hook to link the page in question. Hook fine, supported by wishy-washy online reference. Article is not fully referenced. Not a show-stopper, but add some references when you get the chance. Image is fine, I tweaked the licence. - I have expanded the lead to meet the 5x criteria. There is a solid and legitimate reference from the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, in the Slate and Flagstone section of the article. - I will add further references to the article main body shortly. I haven't submitted a DYK article since October 2012. I stopped because I hate reviewing/critiquing other peoples work. Sorry, but not my cup of tea. If that's a problem, then I'm happy to withdraw the DYK nomination.
