Nez Perce in Yellowstone Park[edit]

Site of killing of Richard Dietrich, 1877

Created/expanded by Smallchief (talk). Nominated by Mike Cline (talk) at 21:20, 1 February 2012 (UTC)

Looks generally good, but we don't need inline coordinates and some of the more storyteller-ish ledes like "Unfortunately ..." and "unbeknownst to ..." in the "Hostile encounters with tourists and prospectors" section (In fact the whole section could use some rewriting for brevity and style—it feels more like a book than an encyclopedia article. Language like "the negro cook" sounds distinctly archaic).

Also, some of the paragraphs end without footnotes. Daniel Case (talk) 00:07, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Daniel, thanks for reviewing this DYK nomination. Unfortunately your review, as happens many times at DYK, has gone well beyond the requirements demanded of a DYK nomination. You've inserted your POV about article style into your review and brought up issues that might be suitable for a GA review, but not DYK as laid out in WP:DYKR. I've encountered this before and my solution is simple. I withdraw the nomination. There are far more important things to do than debate your POV about article style. --Mike Cline (talk) 06:17, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
