New enough, long enough, neutral and cited. The hook is short and cited in the article, and although a bit bland has a (now piped) spelling variation to make up for it. QPQ has been done. O'Hara mentions five published commentaries, but also that Horsfall was working on a sixth, so it might be more accurate to add a "published" or similar word to the hook. - Hi there! I don't find the proposed hook super engaging, and I think there's room for this one to improve—EEng, I'm drawing a blank on different hooks for this one, so if you've got any thoughts that'd be appreciated. theleekycauldron (talk • contribs) (they/she) 07:02, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
- I admit the hook isn't exceptionally engaging, but the fact that he wrote these five commentaries is still quite remarkable. We could add that he did all this after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis? Modussiccandi (talk) 08:17, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

- I'm fine with any of the alts. I don't think there is anything wrong with the original though; it's not quirky, but an unusual achievemnt nonetheless, with or without illness. I also support Modussiccandi's mission of spreading the E spelling variation of Vergil in English, so would prefer ALT0 or ALT1. Ffranc (talk) 13:51, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
