Principality of Hutt River

  • Did you know that in December 1977 the Principality of Hutt River declared war on Australia and the cessation of hostilities several days later as a scheme for arguing that under the Geneva Treaty Convention of 12 August 1949, the Australian government should show full respect to a nation undefeated from a state of war?

  • This article does not qualify for DYK: it is not new, it has not been expanded fivefold within the past seven days, and it was not within those seven days listed as a Good Article. For that matter, I don't see any edits at all to the article by the nominator, and the proposed hooks are all well over the 200-character maximum.. Should the article ever become a Good Article, it would be eligible for DYK, but that is the only way forward. I'd like to suggest that the nominator read WP:DYK to get a better idea of how DYK works and what articles are appropriate for nomination, plus ideas on constructing short, interesting hooks. Thanks.
