... that the Atacama Large Millimeter Array radio telescope (pictured) is constructed on a volcano?The Chajnantor Plateau (23.00S, 67.75W) is a high (5000 m), arid volcanic plateau in the Andes of northern Chile (Fig. 1) that hosts several astronomical observatories, including the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (ALMA) radio telescope. Its broad, domelike topography was constructed by late Cenozoic volcanism (Schmitt et al., 2001 ), and most of the plateau is capped by the 1.3 Ma Cajon ignimbrite (Ramírez and Gardeweg, 1982). Many 5600 e 5700 m stratovolcanoes and lava domes of the Purico Complex (pyroclastic shield) ornament the plateau, [1]

- @Cwmhiraeth: Every single paragraph has at least one citation, save for the lead where customarily (WP:LEAD) there aren't any citations save for a) particularly contentious statements and b) stuff not supported elsewhere in the article. - You are absolutely right, and I apologize. I clicked on the wrong link in the hook (as most readers will do in this instance, especially with the (pictured) there) and was surprised that so many paragraphs were unreferenced. I would advise you to rearrange the hook so that people click on the correct link, perhaps piping the link differently. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:48, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
- Ah, you were assuming the hook is about Atacama Large Millimeter Array. Going to be difficult to reword the hook since to non-volcanologists the volcano is primarily noteworthy because of ALMA. And now that I notice, the ALMA article has some parts that look like copypaste ... so that needs checking at a minimum. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 11:58, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
