  • The hook is fine and it also checks out, the reason I will oppose this DYK is that the article citations are unformatted and are not using any kind of template, {{cite web}} or {{cite news}}. That way when links rot or become dead, there's no way of knowing. Please correct the citations in template and then this one is good to go. — Legolas (talk2me) 17:18, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Is this a new rule of DYK? I have never seen this rule and have had a number of DYK articles recently. The citations are too (as in "indeed") formatted. They are formatted the way I have written all my articles, and they have all been approved for DYK. I have never seen a rule anywhere on Wikipedia saying that one MUST use the templates and I don't like them because they don't allow me the flexibility I sometimes need. • It looks like the reviewer is asleep, given his time zone. I have, in the meantime, checked the DYK rules and rules for formatting and I see nowhere that it says one MUST use the templates. Only one of the sources used as refs for this article had an author listed, including the articles by very reputable sources, Der Spiegel and ORF and Geo Epoche. Is that why I'm being accused of not formatting, because only one author's name is listed? Marrante (talk) 21:31, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Lol, I'm, awake now. :) No Marrante, this is not a hard-and-fast rule but this is always advisable. Since DYK has changed, we not only verify the hook, we also review the articles taking into consideration its good points and bad points, and point them out. That is why I strongly suggest to use the template. It's for your betterment and you will be able to track if links from Der Spiegel turns dead sumday. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:35, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Thank you for your reply. I'm not interested in changing the ref style. Marrante (talk) 07:20, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
  • Fine if you are taking responsibility for the article's links, I'm good to go with this one. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:46, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
