Safiya Wazir

  • ... that American politician Safiya Wazir initially came to Uzbekistan as a refugee from Afghanistan? Source: [1] "[Wazir] escaped Afghanistan as a child and lived in a Uzbekistan refugee camp for ten years"

  • Hi HickoryOughtShirt?4, review follows: article created 25 October; article exceeds minimum length; article is adequately well written; article is cited inline throughout to reliable sources; hook fact is interesting, though is worded a little unusually - the "initally" part sounds a little strange to me as there is no connection between that and her coming to the US (I would have said "politician Safiya Wazir fled Afghanistan to Uzbekistan as a refugee before emigrating to the United States?"), though perhaps it is an American English thing? hook is backed up by the cited source (Business Insider); There's one similar phrasing from a source that you may want to look at: "She sat on the board of directors for the Community Action Program and became vice-chairwoman of the Head Start Policy Council" versus "serving as the board of directors for the Community Action Program and vice-chairwoman of the Head Start Policy Council" from the Concord Monitor, though perhaps there's limited ways this can be reworded; nomination needs a QPQ review; if you could let me know your comments, I'll come back to finish the review, thanks - Dumelow (talk) 10:20, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
  • @Dumelow: I did a QPQ shortly before I submitted this but forgot to attach it here. And the quoted thing may fit the limited ways bill. ミラP 15:18, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
Hi Miraclepine (sorry I pinged the wrong person first time), thanks for providing the QPQ. I've reworded the sentence I found slightly to be a little further from the source. I'm still not wholly sold on the wording of the hook but am happy it is interesting and factual, so will approve - Dumelow (talk) 16:28, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
