  • Comment: this is not a hoax and it is supported by reliable sources

  • The article is currently being discussed at Articles for Deletion. If the article is merged with animal attacks, a DYK nomination of that article may be appropriate. TheDragonFire (talk) 05:28, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
The article might end up being renamed, but I don't anticipate its deletion. Animal attacks is too large of an article to be a DYK because the addition or merging of the contents of Squirrel-sponsored cyberterrorism would be insignificant in relation to its current size. I suppose we will have to see what the results are related to the deletion nominiation. I remain optimistic. Barbara (WVS)   12:07, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
As the AFD is currently strongly leaning keep, I will give this a review. Date and length OK. I personally prefer ALT0 as it doesn't seem right to use embellishments in a DYK hook outside of April Fools Day (which we could hold it for) to avoid any PEACOCK accusations. QPQ not needed as this is the last of the nominators free ones. No close paraphrasing, however there are a few citation needed tags that would need to be cleaned up first. I reckon it is almost GTG pending the AFD result. Ping me when the AFD has closed and then I will pass or fail as appropriate. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 19:38, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
  • For your information, the AfD has closed as keep and rename, with a requested move discussion currently underway on the talk page. Rcsprinter123 (blab) 11:52, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment - I created the article, and though disappointed with the less sensational title it now has, the content is the same. I personally don't mind waiting until April Fool's day and the article is now semi-protected and should remain stable until then. I'll tidy it up a bit also to make sure the citations are all in a row. Thank you. Barbara (WVS)   23:02, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Comment - The article is now renamed to Electrical disruptions caused by squirrels

  • Pinging The C of E as requested; now that the AfD has closed and the resulting rename has occurred—I've adjusted this template accordingly—this is ready for further review. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:03, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
  • If this doesn't run on April Fools, it will be a tragedy of biblical proportions. EEng 19:40, 7 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Moved to April Fools' Day DYK page. (First hook there for 2018.) BlueMoonset (talk) 02:41, 8 July 2017 (UTC)
The first hook for 4/1/2018? To me, that is an honor. Now I am sorely tempted to work on more DYKs for the same date...
Best Regards, Barbara (WVS)   16:36, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
I thing BlueMS means it's the first hook we have so far for next April 1. To be honest I suspect there will be other hooks that will make better use of the first-slot-with-image. EEng 17:01, 9 July 2017 (UTC)
Well it will be Easter too so it may not make the image slot but you never know. Well done to Barbara on the first AFD hook for 2018. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 07:16, 12 July 2017 (UTC)
  • I have proposed an additional ALT2 hook. I feel like for April fools we can afford to use slightly more misleading language. Note that the Trump Street DYK might end up being the image hook, which might mean that we have to use the hook without the (suspect pictured) bit (at least if we are going back to 24 hour hooks). — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 00:34, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
    • I like the ALT2 much more than the others. It's more factual but still has punch. --Slashme (talk) 08:28, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
IMHO ALT2 isn't misleading enough for April 1. Recommend ALT1. EEng 12:56, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
