@Cielquiparle: Today I learned that the pronged thing used to toast hot dogs over an open fire is called a toasting fork! The article is well-done, very well sourced and historically pretty interesting. The hook is a cool little tidbit that I think belongs perfectly in DYK.
However, I will add that Footnote [A] is a bit of a concern because it is an exact quote. I did see you added the proper citation, but I would still consider rephrasing it in your own words. Footnote B was also pretty interesting. Anyways, great job all around, and besides the rephrasing of footnote A, I think it's good to go. Just a small issue to fix honestly. Additionally, if you're going to add an additional hook with picture, please make sure the picture is licensed properly and viewable at 100px. — That Coptic Guy (talk) 17:10, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
- @That Coptic Guy: Thanks for the review! I happen to agree regarding the former Footnote A (with the long blog quote) and have removed it. I've also made a few other changes to the article, so would really appreciate it if you could have a "fresh" read. (I promise it's worth it!) I have now also added an image for the original hook above, and have one additional hook to propose below (which would need to run without an image):
- ALT1: ... that extendable marshmallow toasting forks were cited as an example of how glamping has "ruined" camping?

5x expansion from pre-redirect version verified. QPQ done. Earwig found no problematic copying. Heavily and thoroughly sourced. Good prose quality. Overlong quote issue no longer present. Both hooks look interesting to me, AGF on the sources (my employer's ProQuest subscription doesn't appear to cover UK newspapers). Good to go with either hook. But I don't think the image is particularly legible at thumbnail size, so although it appears to be properly licensed I would prefer not to use it. —David Eppstein (talk) 16:33, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
