War of the Maidens[edit]

  • ... that the War of the Maidens involved neither war nor maidens, only men dressed up as women?
  • ALT1:... that during the War of the Maidens, men dressed as women attacked forest guards and charcoal burners to defend their use of the forest?

  • Per Rule D2, each paragraph should have at least one citation. I am not familiar with translating from other Wikipedia projects, but I think there needs to be a box on the talk page about where the material was translated from. Yoninah (talk) 22:15, 28 November 2015 (UTC)
@Yoninah: I have added a few references and a translation template. The article should be ready for review now. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:33, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
I am so sorry; I completely forgot about this because I got busy in real life. Thanks to Cwhiraeth for adding the references and the talk page template! You are truly awesome. I've added version information to the template for the benefit of future readers. --Bowlhover (talk) 08:31, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Thank you, @Cwmhiraeth:, for adding the cites and the translation template.
  • Article is new enough, long enough, well referenced, neutrally written. As all sources are in French, unable to check for close paraphrasing. The first hook is very good; however, neither hook fact is cited in the article. There is just an explanatory paragraph in the lead which has no citation. No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits, but nominator has done a QPQ as a courtesy (thanks!). Yoninah (talk) 10:48, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
I have added a sentence and reference which covers at least part of the hook. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:07, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
  • Excellent, thanks! And an English-language ref – perfect! Hook ref verified and cited inline. Let's go with the first hook. Yoninah (talk) 11:18, 14 December 2015 (UTC)
