Wilfrid North[edit]

Moved to mainspace by Skr15081997 (talk). Self nominated at 14:10, 23 May 2014 (UTC).

  • recently and significantly expanded (5x expansion met during month of May 2014); looks like original work, extensive referencing for all points; in case you want an ALT, this one might work:
  • ALT1 ... that film director Wilfrid North was blinded in 1913 by a cannon explosion on the set?
(Penny Richards (talk) 19:26, 24 May 2014 (UTC)Penny Richards)
  • I'll change my review to a check, then--for the ALT (because it's shorter and lets you get the subject's name into the hook).Penny Richards (talk) 02:53, 26 May 2014 (UTC)Penny Richards
  • Per Rule H2, you're not allowed to approve your own hook, so another reviewer should sign off on this. Also, why are the majority of film titles red-linked? Yoninah (talk) 11:34, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
  • Oh--okay--approval is for the entry (still meets basic criteria); someone else can decide about the ALT and the redlinks.12:47, 26 May 2014 (UTC)Penny Richards
  • Yoninah, I have removed the redlinks from the filmography section.--Skr15081997 (talk) 14:30, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Thanks. Confirming Penny's review: 5x expansion verified. New enough, long enough, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. However, there is a paragraph of detailed information that has no source. I broke out the paragraphs under Biography and added a "cite needed" tag to ask you where you found this information.
  • Wait a minute, I just found much of the information in this paragraph, with a bit of close paraphrasing to the IMDb site:
  • IMdb: London-born Wilfrid North had a long and distinguished career on the stage as an actor, director and manager before joining Vitagraph Pictures in 1913 as a director.
  • Article: He had a long and distinguished career on the stage as an actor, director, and manager.
  • Could you take care of the close paraphrasing and the cite, please?
  • In the rest of the page, it seems like many of your sources are supporting the names of films, not the descriptive prose in the article. Also, the cinema.theiapolis.com site is not opening for me. ALT1 hook ref is verified and cited inline. QPQ done. Yoninah (talk) 22:47, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Yoninah, I have rephrased the sentence and provided a reliable source for the second paragraph under biography.--Skr15081997 (talk) 02:11, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I found more reliable refs under an alternate spelling of his name, Wilfred North. Article is new enough, long enough, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. ALT1 hook ref verified and cited inline. QPQ done. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 22:55, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
