Yellow Submarine (album)[edit]

  • Reviewed: Not a self-nomination.

Improved to Good Article status by Ritchie333 (talk). Nominated by Oceanh (talk) at 11:21, 6 August 2014 (UTC).

  • Long enough, passed GA recently enough but I can't find this fact in the article. Nathan121212 (talk) 15:25, 6 August 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the review. The hook is a combination of several facts found in the article. For instance all songs are listed in the Track listing section, although not cited there. Each of the songs are treated in the Background and recording section, with several inline citations; though not for every sentence. This treatment starts with the sentence, "Only one side of the album contains songs performed by the Beatles; of the six, four were previously unreleased", though not with an inline citation immediately after. So, I think the hook fact is found in the article, but the question is whether it is sufficiently cited. Since most of the sources are offline (books), it is difficult to improve the level of citation without access to the books. If you wish I might try to find another hook. • Yes please. DYK rules are quite strict in this regard. Nathan121212 (talk) 19:29, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
  • Ok, below is an alternative hook, based on one specific sentence from the article, and which is immediately cited. Oceanh (talk) 20:18, 8 August 2014 (UTC)
  • ALT1: ... that the 1969 album Yellow Submarine was one of the few Beatles releases not to top the charts in either the United Kingdom or the United States, peaking at number 3 and 2 respectively?
    • Perhaps because it was a rip off, with only four new songs, all left over from the Magical Mystery Tour, with a B side of background music from the animated feature? Hawkeye7 (talk) 22:09, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
  • looks good. Article is long enough with no copyvio or paraphrasing. Recently passed GA. Hook is cited by an offline source. Assuming good faith. Nathan121212 (talk) 06:17, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
