Template:JudoRank/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage[edit]

{{JudoRank|color|color}}

The purpose of this template is to allow editors to include a colored box that visually indicates the rank of a judoka in the infobox for their article.

In most cases, notable judoka will be dan grades and therefore have either a black (first to fifth dan), red and white (sixth to eighth dan), or red (ninth and tenth dan) belt. These can be produced with the following parameters:

     {{JudoRank|black}}

     {{JudoRank|red|white}}

     {{JudoRank|red}}

Other colors can be substituted if necessary.

In the infobox, the colored box should appear first, followed by the Japanese name of the rank in italics and the English translation in parentheses, as in the following examples:

     Shodan (1st dan)

     Rokudan (6th dan)

     Kudan (9th dan)
