Usage[edit]
Use this template to link to Major League Baseball season articles from a particular year. For example, {{MLB Year|1998|disp=full}} will create the following link: 1998 Major League Baseball season.

Optional | Sets display options. Use disp=full to link the full page title (e.g. 1998 Major League Baseball season), disp=abbr to abbreviate the link with "MLB" (e.g. 1998 MLB season) or, in contexts where it has already been indicated that Major League Baseball is the subject, use disp=seas to omit "MLB" (e.g. 1998 season). If this parameter is omitted, only the year will be linked (e.g. 1998).

This template should not ordinarily be used in prose text when piped only to show a year. Such use is contrary to WP:EGG, and is likely to confuse readers. Instead, limit its use to tables, infoboxes, navboxes, and similar uses, where it is clear from the context that the link is to a particular year in baseball.
