Template:ODCC/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

DEPRECIATED: Complicates COinS date handling: Use full {{cite encyclopedia}} or {{citation}} templates This was intended to be a "convenience template" to save typing in the multiple details of the OXFORD DICTIONARY OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH every time one needs to refer to it. It has not yet been deleted in case it is used somewhere.

Usage[edit]

It supplies the unchanging parameters to {{cite encyclopedia}} when the number of the edition is specified.

Basic Syntax[edit]

{{ODCC|edition|article1|article2|article3|ref=}}

Use UNNAMED PARAMETERS as follows:

edition: Set to 1 for the first edn. (1957); 2 for the 1974 one; 3 for 1997; and 3r for the most recent revision of this last (2005)
article1 is obligatory, the next two parameters are optional

The NAMED ref = may be used to handle the different types of reference such as "harv".

Additional Parameters[edit]

The remaining named parameters for template:cite encyclopedia can be passed as usual

Error messages[edit]

The template generates error warnings if the edition is not recognised or no title of the article is given.
