Template for usage on subpages of Signpost/Archives.

First positional argument

Previous issue date.

Second positional argument

This issue date. Using {{SUBPAGENAME}} works for most cases.

Third positional argument

Next issue date.

Example

For the archive of the issue 2009-10-26:

{{Signpost archive|2009-10-19|{{SUBPAGENAME}}|2009-11-02}}

Innards

This template is transcluded onto, say,

• Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/Archives/2023-08-01

and it transcludes the header, which is

• Wikipedia:Signpost/Template:Signpost-header

and then after that is the line

• {{Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/{{{2}}}|2}}

which transcludes the appropriate Signpost issue page, which in this case would be

• Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2023-08-01

and if you go to this page you'll see that it consists of nothing but a bunch of lines like this:

• {{Signpost/item|{{{1}}}|5|2023-08-01|Tips and tricks|Citation tools for dummies!|0.5 MB}}
