This template is used on approximately 28,000 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.

Usage[edit]

When you create or find a new page within the scope of WikiProject Argentina please add any of the following to the top of its talk page:

Unused parameters may be omitted. This template automatically adds articles to Category:WikiProject Argentina articles.

Optional parameters[edit]

class – valid values are fa, a, ga, b, c, start, stub, fl, list, category, disambig, draft, file, portal, project, template, na (case-insensitive). See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |class= blank or omit the parameter.
importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave |importance= blank or omit the parameter.
listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Juan Manuel Fangio, use |listas=Fangio, Juan Manuel so that the talk page will show up in the F's and not the J's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add |listas= to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required.
needs-photo – set |needs-photo=yes to request that an image or images be included in the article to improve its quality.
- This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Argentina.
politics – set |politics=yes if the article is supported by the Politics task force.
topic – this parameter is used to amend the displayed message from "... articles related to Argentina"
- |topic=geo: "... articles related to Argentine Geography"
- |topic=hist: "... articles related to Argentine history"
- |topic=econ: "... articles related to Argentine economy"
- |topic=culture: "... articles related to Culture of Argentina"
- |topic=biota: "... articles related to Flora and Fauna of Argentina"
- |topic=science: "... articles related to Science and technology in Argentina"
- |topic=sport: "... articles related to Sport in Argentina"
- |topic=polit: "... articles related to Argentine politics"
- |topic=trans: "... articles related to Transport in Argentina"
Omitting the parameter, or using any other value, leaves the message alone.
category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.

Aliases[edit]

The parameters |needs-image=, |image-needed=, |photo-needed= and |image-requested= are recognised as aliases for |needs-photo=. If more than one is present, the order of precedence, from highest to lowest, is: |needs-photo= → |needs-image= → |image-needed= → |photo-needed= → |image-requested= . Parameters with lower precedence are ignored.
