English[edit]

Shouldn't the language for this template's input parameters and the template's output be in English? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 07:37, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BBKL changed their site[edit]

For example, http://www.bbkl.de/f/ferdinand_karl_v_h.shtml has been moved to https://www.bbkl.de/index.php/frontend/lexicon/F/Fe/ferdinand-karl-von-habsburg-56046 and there is no automatic redirect. We are going to need to redo this template and perhaps have a bot or someone using AWB to fix the links. howcheng {chat} 16:45, 10 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Our German colleagues have avoided that problem by omitting any link to the BBKL site altogether for a few years now; see de:Vorlage Diskussion:BBKL#Link abschalten. A significant part for that decision was that almost none of BBKL's content was freely accessible anymore. Maybe we should drop the parameter |url= from this template here, too. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:12, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Michael Bednarek: I did notice that registration was now required, but I don't read German so I couldn't tell if there was a paywall as well. howcheng {chat} 15:51, 11 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
