Charles Lawrence class info[edit]

I've combined the two USN sections ("completed" and "Completed as Charles Lawrence-class…") in this template for a couple of reasons:

  1. All the ships in the USN section were Buckley-class destroyer escorts at one time, regardless of what they were later converted to. (For example, we don't break down other navboxes by other ship fates, like "Yorktown-class aircraft carriers sunk in battle")
  2. Since Template:Charles Lawrence class transport also exists, there's no point in Template:Buckley class destroyer escort repeating the same information
  3. A navbox doesn't have to give all information about everything. The class article is the best place to explain subtle distinctions like 'this group was completed as that type' or 'ships of these numbers were canceled', etc.

Categories[edit]

I have included this template in Category:Frigate templates as the Royal Navy ships were classed as Captain-class frigates. Dunarc (talk) 00:01, 7 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
