Change to URL[edit]

It would seem that the parliament website has changed the URL it uses. The template currently links to http://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/re-member/bioregfull.cfm?mid={{{mid}}}. It seems that the website now uses the following https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/about/people-in-parliament/re-member/details/24/{{{num}}} To give an example the url for Redmond Barry was mid=202 and is now num=198. It is easy enough to update the template, but I would rather not have to go through and manually search & replace change the mid to a num. One short-term fix would be to change the template to link to an archive page (eg Redmond Barry), but I am not sure if there is a consistent archive date. Any other suggestions for a short-term or long term fix ? Find bruce (talk) 05:02, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried adding https://web.archive.org/web/20121007010055/ to the url with the latest working archive-date being 7 July 2012. It appears to work for the random handful I have tested. Find bruce (talk) 05:42, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
ok I have added an #if statement so that if there is a value for num2= it links to the new url and if not, it links to the archived page. Examples:
  • "Alfred Deakin". Re-Member: a database of all Victorian MPs since 1851. Parliament of Victoria. Archived from the original on 23 April 2023. Retrieved 8 February 2019. num2=231
  • "Deakin, Alfred". Re-Member: a database of all Victorian MPs since 1851. Parliament of Victoria. Archived from the original on 23 April 2023. Retrieved 8 February 2019. mid=329
Happy to tweak further if anyone has a better idea. Find bruce (talk) 11:36, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

URL Changed again[edit]

"On 1 June 2022, we published a new website. With this change, some content may have moved or expired."

Deakin is now at https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/members/alfred-deakin/ Others I've looked for also seem to be lower-cased name with no number either.

I'm not up to fixing it - pinging possible help: @Jonesey95 and GMH Melbourne: - thanks -- Scott Davis Talk 08:43, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have made this template to accommodate the new website which has info for both current and former MPs. I will now redirect this template's urls to a webarchive of the old website. so those links aren't broken. ––– GMH Melbourne (talk) 14:41, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ScottDavis:  Done — Hopefully that fixes it. For referencing to the new webiste, this template should be used. ––– GMH Melbourne (talk) 15:00, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
