Colonial variants[edit]

{{editprotected}} Could an admin please add the flags of German East Africa (1885–1919) and the Tanganyika Territory (1919–1961) to the template? Thank you in advance. Davykamanzitalk · contribs 21:36, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also the official longname "United Republic of Tanzania" needs to be added as an option.-- = ? 17:10, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Mátyás and Davykamanzi: Does this still need doing? It looks like no-one ever actually answered this request. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 07:22, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Mr. Stradivarius: Yeah I've looked over the code and it seems like nothing's changed. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 08:55, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've done it now. No need for anyone to stress about it. Davykamanzitalkcontribsalter ego 08:58, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure these variants should be available in this template since there was no "Tanzania" back when these flags were used. For the British colonial flag of Tanganyika there's a variant in Template:Country data Tanganyika ( Tanganyika); a template for German East Africa doesn't exist yet but could be created. I think it's misleading to use the name "Tanzania" to refer to the British and German colonies. SiBr4 (talk) 09:40, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Army[edit]

Is it possible that the "army" template could be set up? Something similar to what is on the Template_talk:Country_data_South_Africa. I am hoping to use it on the United Nations Force Intervention Brigade page. Thanks. BoonDock (talk) 23:18, 5 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed the army link ( Tanzanian Army) and created a redirect from Tanzania Army so the default link would work too. SiBr4 (talk) 15:18, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Sorry to be pedantic, but it would be better as "Tanzanian Army" and "Tanzanian People's Defence Force"... BoonDock (talk) 15:33, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The corresponding article is called Tanzania People's Defence Force, so I used that. If no |link alias-army= is defined in a country data template, {{army}} uses "<country> Army" as link (based on the values of |shortname alias= and |alias=) rather than "<demonym> Army". Template-protected edit request on 24 March 2018[edit]

Change template:navy link to Tanzania Naval Command. Skjoldbro (talk) 15:41, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: It does not appear that we have a naval flag for Tanzania, and thus adding a link for navy will not be done. If and when we get one, you're welcome to re-open the request. Primefac (talk) 17:01, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
