1976, 1981, 1986 indirect elections[edit]

These are listed under parliamentary elections, but voters only got to elect their local Municipal Assemblies; these in turn selected delegates to parliament. Sladnick (talk) 07:03, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes; the articles explain this. They were indirect parliamentary elections. Number 57 19:59, 5 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What is the standard for including indirect elections on election templates? Other templates have notes to not include such-and-such elections because they are indirect. Can I add in asterisks with a visible note at the bottom, as for example the German-language Wikipedia does for indirect elections on its election templates? The standard is to exclude indirect presidential elections. However, indirect parliamentary elections (which are much rarer) are included as they are the closest thing to elections in the countries in question (in some countries, parliament was indirectly elected for many years before becoming directly elected).
