Alabama variety of the purpleflower pinkroot (Spigelia gentianoides var. alabamensis)

  • Article is not in bad shape, the sources cited are reliable and the hook can be found there. Appropriate length, created today. One problem- the image is currently of the wrong variety. See the first page. An image of both subspecies would be appropriate in the article, but we'd need an image of this variety specifically for the hook. • Luckily, those pictures, being USFWS photos, are in the public domain, so if someone wants to upload the pic of the other variety it would be very helpful. -IceCreamAntisocial (talk) 12:54, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
*How about:
ALT1 ... that a variety of the purpleflower pinkroot (pictured) is found exclusively in Bibb County, Alabama? Rcej (Robert)talk 01:13, 3 August 2011 (UTC)][reply]
Still implies that it is the variety that is pictured. We have a free image of the variety- upload that and add it to the article. It's not really complete without images of them both anyway! Would be a good reason to use the second image parameter on Template:Taxobox. J Milburn (talk) 21:31, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I added the new img to the article and here. Let's go with the original hook ;) Rcej (Robert)talk 08:12, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Would be great if you could add a source link to the image, though. J Milburn (talk) 08:51, 4 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Comments/discussion: I work with both of the varieties. I saw this through my Google alerts. How do I add pictures and articles? 98.251.69.27 (talk) 16:58, 4 August 2011 (UTC)AJ[reply]

Hey AJ, great to hear from you. To upload files, you have to create an account, and then follow the instructions found here. You have to be "confirmed" to upload files, so if you post here once you've created the account, I can confirm it for you. Alternatively, (and this would be preferable if the images are published elsewhere) it can be done by email- if you'd prefer that, let me know. Thanks for your interest!
