Category[edit]

I changed to Category:Stars of constellation templates so that all 88 constellations would appear together. Most were there, only half a dozen were under the cat that this template put them under. — kwami (talk) 22:01, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Kwamikagami: The plan was to slowly move each navbox to Category:Constellation navboxes as they were one-by-one converted to new formats that included better spacing, sorting, and added all deep space objects rather than just a focus on stars, along with the new transcluded documentation. I understand that I've basically neglected that campaign and I haven't done any work in the past few weeks or so. Sorry about that; I'll get back to work on it as soon as I can! – PhilipTerryGraham (talk · articles · reviews) 03:04, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@PhilipTerryGraham: I figured it was an incomplete project! How about you leave the old category in the template until you finish, and then take it out? (Also, Musa and maybe one other have something odd going on.) I'm using the category for navigation to add pronunciations to all the named stars, and that's gonna take a while (esp. when sources disagree, and it takes some checking to see if some are errors or not actually English, or if they're established variants in English). I could go off the IAU list, but this way is more complete. — kwami (talk) 05:26, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Kwamikagami: It was my only way to publicly keep track of navboxes that have been completely fixed up. Maybe there's another way of doing so, perhaps? – PhilipTerryGraham (talk · articles · reviews) 05:28, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@PhilipTerryGraham: Aah, well that would be inconvenient for you then. Maybe you could change the redundant cat to a tempory one ('constellation templates being recategorized' or something), and make that a subcat of the old category, so the rest of us could still find them but you'd know which they were, and then delete the temp cat once they're all moved? And maybe add a hat note to the heading of the new category, something like 'for constellations not yet listed in this category, see cat X'? Just a thought. — kwami (talk) 06:49, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
