Young Dancers

Someone added Young Dancers so I've added the Young Musicians competition to the page.--gottago 14:19, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Song Contest

I thought that this was supposed to be for the Song Contest only? Not the kiddie contest... not the dancing contest... not the musicians' contest... but the Eurovision Song Contest.

I propose that we strip out all the other stuff and make it about the ESC only.

If anyone disagrees - then how about making a separate template, just for the actual ESC. EuroSong ^talk 08:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

In fact, now I check it, it seems that there are already existing templates for those other competitions separately. Now on their pages they have TWO template boxes: their individual competition boxes, and the generic Eurovision one! I will fix this... EuroSong ^talk 08:35, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Eurovision Dance Contest

Could this template be change to include the Eurovision Dance Contest which is set to air this Autumn? AxG ^(talk) _{(guest book)} 17:25, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

I absolutely disagree. The "Dance Contest" is not a part of the Song Contest - nor is it a "spin off", like the Junior version. It's simply another event by the EBU which uses the "Eurovision" name. The Dance Contest does not belong as a part of the Song Contest template. In any case, the first edition has not even been broadcast! EuroSong ^talk 23:36, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Template standardisation plans

Logo

I understand where people come from when they note MOS:ICON, and WP:ICONDECORATION has been used previously to explain the removal of flags depicting a national broadcaster within infoboxes. Flag icons have been permitted in navigational boxes such as {{Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest}} per WP:WORDPRECEDENCE and MOS:FLAG; and I suppose because the heart "logo" is the flag of the contest, then people are probably assuming the same permitted rule applies. I have been attempting to start a full-on RfC reform at the project talk page, but with real-life house moving, and 3 family deaths in the space of 2 months, I have had to put that on-hold for now, so that I can concentrate on RL, and start up a RfC when I am fully compus mentus. There are a lot of issues that I intend to raise with the project when I get the chance, such as WP:ACCESS, WP:CITELEAD, and all manual of style guidelines; with the aim to get project members working properly and within the rules of Wikipedia. This is something I had tried a few times in the past, but didn't get back-up from people in-the-know, and even though I was pursuing that we should be following MOS, I just got it thrown in my face and ignored (seems to be a common pattern these days, with being ignored). All I can suggest is once I get around to opening up this RfC, is to send you an invite to participate, and hopefully then I'll be able to get some back-up with my arguable case to have icons removed, and manual of style policies followed strictly by all members.
