Tennis To-do:

Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

Time to deprecate numeric IDs (P599)[edit]

Numeric IDs (ITF player ID before 2020 (archived) (P599)) used with the old URL format, e.g. https://www.itftennis.com/procircuit/players/player/profile.aspx?playerid=10019424, are now broken and don't redirect to the new profiles like they once did. All items on Wikidata that have P599 also have ITF player ID 2020 (P8618) thanks to a bot on Wikidata, so with Qwerfjkl's help, it was possible for all pages that once populated Category:ITF template using numeric ID to have their templates changed to fetch the new IDs. With that work done, I think @Zyxw that support for the old ID format should be removed, with a warning generated if the inputted ID doesn't match the new ID format. Category:ITF template with ID different from Wikidata and Category:ITF template with ID not in Wikidata should be made functional now that the IDs on Wikipedia shouldn't conflict with those on Wikidata, and Category:ITF template using non-numeric ID and Category:ITF template using Wikidata property P599 should be deleted, leaving Category:ITF template using numeric ID for new IDs that have been wrongly inputted with just the numeric part (example). This will make maintenance easier, and the docs simpler for new editors to understand. Thanks, Letcord (talk) 11:21, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
