{{page}}[edit]

What is the purpose of the {{page}} magic word? It doesn't seem to do anything within the template itself. RiverStyx23{submarinetarget} 00:46, 4 March 2013 (UTC) [reply]

The purpose of it seems to be for use in templates. If {{page}} is placed on template X, you can then place template X on a page in any of the talk namespaces (Talk, Wikipedia talk, Category talk, Template talk, etc.) and, wherever {{page}} is placed, it will become a link back to the page in the corresponding non-talk namespace (main, Wikipedia, Category, Template, etc.). I thought it would be used quite a lot, but can't see many good examples at the moment. — Smjg (talk) 13:49, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
PS The talk page of the template itself - in this case Template talk:Page - is a better place to ask such questions. — Smjg (talk) 13:51, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

bot removal?[edit]

There's a discussion over at Template talk:Under construction#automatic removal that involves this template. Thanks, CapnZapp (talk) 10:54, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
