Image size[edit]

Edokter, it makes no sense to insist that all the images in all the boxes be the same size, because not all the boxes are the same size. The image has to fit the box. At 46px, this one is too small for the space it's filling, not to mention that the image details are barely visible. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 12:35, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We have {{Labutnum III}} that does show the bigger image. But this is a userbox. Enlarging the image also widens it, resulting in the text having less space, which in turn forces the box to expand in height. I understand the sentiment, but in a userbox the image is not necessarely ment to be legible. Edokter (talk) — 12:56, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Then let's find a size in the middle somewhere. But forcing it to 46px is just too small. The box is bigger because it has more words, not because of the image. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 14:33, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the box is higher because of the text, but enlarging the image only makes it worse. I don't understand why the image size is only a problem with this'userbox and not the others. Edokter (talk) — 15:54, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The image can be enlarged to fill the current space, without making the space larger. The image size needs to be different here because the userbox is larger.
There is no rule that says all images in all user boxes must be 46 px. It's that kind of thing that is driving editors crazy and making people leave, so let's use common sense, and just edit this for aesthetic reasons so that it doesn't look too small for the space. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 15:59, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Enlarging means widening it, leaving less space for the text. I'm just trying to get a consistent look. I'd like to have some more input on this. Edokter (talk) — 16:02, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You don't achieve a consistent look by forcing boxes of different sizes to use the same 46px image size. That's how you get an inconsistent look, which is why I changed it. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 16:05, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(←)The box is usually stacked between a dozen others on one's user page; there 46px is consistent with other boxes. Edokter (talk) — 16:19, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
