Broken template[edit]

If the cyrillic alphabet is the default (or even optional) as a rendering for this language, it should not be italicizing its text. — LlywelynII 14:50, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, there is no need to restrict editing this template to administrators; autoconfirmed should be just fine.

Second, this template is for a language that employs the cyrillic alphabet: it should not be italicizing by default. Yes, there are political considerations (the Ukraine prefers Latin letters and Russia the Cyrillic ones) but that's neither here nor there since the template has to do service for both of them. Kindly remove the italic formatting from the template or insert a functionality to toggle it. Right now the only way to make this work is to wrap the Cyrillic text with {{lang-ru}} instead of the actual language being described.  — LlywelynII 14:56, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
