IMHO this template should link to Thai alphabet, not Thai language. This template is usually used when a Thai name is romanized, and the original spelling is added. This is however not a translation (i.e. language change), but a transcription (alphabet change). andy 12:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you look at Category:Multilingual support templates, all of the "lang-" templates link to the languages, so this seems to be a de facto standard. Also, it is too ambiguous to wiki-link to the Thai alphabet (since it is used to write languages other than Thai). --Hintha 05:44, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
