FAQ[edit]

Please give suggestions to improve this template. For now I (Japf) post my own doubts about it. Please say your opinion. (talk) 22:01, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Q: For dates before 1582 the proleptic Gregorian calendar is used. Should the Julian calendar be used for dates before 1582?

A: Julian Calendar can be chosen by inserting a special keyword:Cal=J.

Q: 1 BCE must be inserted as 0, 2 BCE as -1 and so on. Is this a problem?

A: BCE years can be inserted, by putting a special keyword: Era=BC

Q: Which date corresponds to December 21, 2012, 13.0.0.0.0 or 0.0.0.0.0? (or another way to ask this is: which date follows immediately after 12.19.19.17.19?)

A: The template gives 13.0.0.0.0 by default. The value of 1 piktun=13 baktuns can de chosen by inserting the keyword Pik=13.

Q: The stela is disposed in one column. Should remain like it is, or should be disposed in two columns?

A: The stela is now disposed in two columns, being less space filling in this way.

Other subjects[edit]

These are mathematical expressions that could be integrated in the supplementary series of the maya stela. Unfourtunately, every single of the following issues involves a large amount of figures. Since it is not possible to get them from a free source, all of them would have to be drawn by us. Japf (talk) 14:33, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a list of files used by this template? I'd like to ensure that they all have an SVG version that can be used. Arlo James Barnes 07:15, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
