Kia ora Kiwichris and others. If you haven't yet seen the 1901 Auckland City mayoral election article, please have a read; especially the section "Mayoral results". Basically, we've had two elections in 1901. The first one in April, where the public elected John Logan Campbell. The second in July, where the city councillors elected Alfred Kidd after Campbell's resignation. I'd be inclined to list the July 1901 election as a separate event in this template.
