Template-protected edit request on 30 April 2020[edit]

Please add a disambiguatory hatnote to the documentation stating {{For|the talk page notice that an article has been mentioned in the media|Template:Press}}. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 07:14, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: {{edit template-protected}} is usually not required for edits to the documentation or categories of templates using a documentation subpage. Use the 'edit' link at the top of the green "Template documentation" box to edit the documentation subpage. I made you a doc page sdkb. Izno (talk) 01:52, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Izno: Thanks, happy to do it myself now that the doc page is accessible to me. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 01:57, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 23 May 2020[edit]

Hello, i suggest changing the category in which pages are automatically inserted from ""{{{1}}} media"" to ""{{{1}}} mass media"", because recently a lot of pages with the media template were moved to the mentioned category(maybe all of them, but I'm not sure). (see Showdown media&type=move here for an example, and here, for all moved categorys (ctrl+f -> type "media")) TheImaCow (talk) 05:30, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To editor TheImaCow:  done, and thank you! P.I. Ellsworth  ed. put'r there 13:12, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The change from "media" should have been to "media files" rather than "mass media", see e.g. Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2020 July 4#Video game media files. I've split some categories today e.g. Category:Lego media files, Category:Doraemon media files; posted Mana (series) at WP:CFDS; and commented at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2022 June 2#Category:Pirates of the Caribbean mass media. – Fayenatic London 20:44, 18 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Got it. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'r there 16:04, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
For the record, there are no longer any pages generating category names ending with "mass media". All transclusions now have categories ending either "media files" or "images". The tracking category Category:Pages using Template:Media with ambiguous media category would catch any exceptions, but is now empty. – Fayenatic London 23:01, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
