Scope[edit]

I started creating this navbox on my own, then realized it already existed. My scope (plan) was to include any games that use a 52-card deck, and are NOT usually played in casinos. StevePrutz (talk) 15:20, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The trick-taking section overlaps with {{Trick-taking card games}} which has a pretty comprehensive section on games played with the 52-card French pack (which includes Anglo-American pattern packs). The most common casino games are covered separately at {{Banking games}}. So my suggestion is that this template is renamed something like "non-trick-taking card games" because fishing, shedding, etc games are not covered anywhere else AFAICS. Moreover, at least one game listed in this template, Escoba, is played with Spanish, not French, cards. And specifying French cards means excellent games like the Italian national game of Scopa, played with Italian cards, can't be included in the fishing games. Moved to new title as no-one has objected. Bermicourt (talk) 21:55, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
