Improvements in the implementation.[edit]

In order to improve the usage of this template in the wild I attach three examples of improved deployment of the S-par/ie/oi following from the now closed discussion on the removal of the template. The starting point is BHGs excellent Martin Cullen example.

Three examples. By picking a long service TD in a constituency the rest of the TDs are quite easy as they are a subset of the before/with/after listings for the long service TD.

There are still a few abiding lacunae as to how to best deploy this template in future and perhaps some early agreement is best as we are keeping the template per the discussion.

EG Question 1

Should all Oireachtas service be shown.?

As an EG Michael Kitt was a Senator twice between bouts in the Dáil. In all these service cases he was an Oireachtas member and this is an Oireachtas template.

Multi-seat constituencies[edit]

We know Dáil seats are all multi-seat constituencies. Can we therefore stop using this template to show "succession" from one individual to another; that's not how Irish elections work! Just looking at Robert Troy, where apparently he had been given Mary O'Rourke's old seat - despite their being two FF seats prior to the 2011 election, not just one. The template should show all previous and current seat-holders in the constituency (with the possible exception of by-elections). BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 17:47, 28 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
