Edit request[edit]

Please change the URL from https://int.soccerway.com (international version) to https://soccerway.com (unspecified version).

This way the link will default to the respective localized version, which the website normally does otherwise (e.g. https://uk.soccerway.com/ if it's accessed from the United Kingdom). Now the link always points to the international version, which is the default one only for the regions with no localized version. --Theurgist (talk) 01:59, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. Zyxw changed the template to use the international version a year ago so this needs discussion Galobtter (pingó mió) 06:51, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned above, I made some updates to the template last year, one of which was changing the URL from www.soccerway.com to int.soccerway.com. This was done to eliminate the redirect and decrease the delay in displaying the page, which I felt outweighed the very minor differences (if any) between int.soccerway.com and the URLs such as uk.soccerway.com or us.soccerway.com (which are available from a drop-down menu at the top of every Soccerway.com page). If there is a consensus to go back to a redirected URL, I suggest using https://www.soccerway.com which will only redirect one time (https://soccerway.com redirects to www.soccerway.com first). -- Zyxw (talk) 12:00, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible to implement these changes (at {{NFT player}}) here as well? Nehme1499 19:15, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nehme1499 could you implement the changes in the template sandbox first? Elli (talk | contribs) 04:51, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Elli: Done. Nehme1499 19:55, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nehme1499 your changes cause an issue. Look at the link in the testcase "unnamed parameters 2" in Template:Soccerway/testcases. The current one works, while your version has a 404 error. Elli (talk | contribs) 22:32, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Elli: Unfortunately I'm not really an expert in this kind of coding. I'll ping @S.A. Julio who made the changes to NFT player. Nehme1499 22:37, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nehme1499 thanks, no worries. Elli (talk | contribs) 22:39, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Not done (as it is broken) - please reactivate the edit request when this has been remedied and validated. — xaosflux Talk 19:15, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The parameter "accessdate" should be changed to "access-date", and "accessdate" should be made into an alternate parameter name. This is to bring the template in line with other citation templates, which all use "access-date". Nehme1499 16:46, 23 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
