Subfamily move request[edit]

Please change the parent subfamily of the Lavinia genus from Leuciscinae to Laviniinae per the following reference: Schönhuth, Susana; Vukić, Jasna; Šanda, Radek; Yang, Lei; Mayden, Richard L. (October 2018). "Phylogenetic relationships and classification of the Holarctic family Leucisidae (Cypriniformes: Cyprinoidei)". Molecular Phylogenetic and Evolution. 127: 781–799. doi:10.1016/j.ympev.2018.06.026. 108.18.207.147 (talk) 16:28, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done: Declined.

Oppose. The taxonomy used by the Wikipedia:WikiProject Fishes for fish taxa at the level above genus, such as subfamilies, is that set out in the 5th edition of Fishes of the World. Articles and templates should follow that taxonomy but differing views can be mentioned in the articles. For Lavinia please feel free to mention this differing viewpoint in the article. For an example of this see Jordaniidae which does set out some of the alternative views on the systematics of that taxon.Quetzal1964 (talk) 18:40, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. Fishes of the World does not recognize Laviniinae. Jj1691 (talk) 20:33, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: Clearly consensus against this change. Lemonaka (talk) 18:22, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
