Colour Change[edit]

Hi

I got wrapped on the knuckles because I didn't open a discussion about a proposed colour change for this user box. I understand that this change will affect everyone who uses this userbox.

So, I would like to propose a colour change from the current faded pink, to a more suitable set. I propose to use: [1]

Symbol background: hex colour #CC00FF
User box background: hex colour #E066FF

Both of these colours are shades of purple, and I have chosen these to reflect the "peaceful" nature. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly associate purple with peace. Second, I wanted the user boxes to stand out, not all look so similar. I had a lot of faded pink userboxes and just wanted to review the use of colours, in particular this one.

Hi there, thanks for opening discussion and accepting the revert of your change. I appreciate that it may be construed as 'minor' since it's only a colour change, although I disagree with being WP:BOLD on this one since it will affect numerous editors and their associated userspace. As to a 'wrap on the knuckles' it really wasn't intended as such and I apologise if that's how it felt: I merely meant to remind you of the importance of consensus for wide-scale changes such as this. On the issue at hand: I agree a colour change would be helpful (though not necessary) but would far prefer something more positive (e.g. green, white, blue -> i.e. symbols of peace and harmony) than purple (which is often associated with royalty).
