Rewrite[edit]

I am considering a rewrite of this template to include...

  1. A second time zone
  2. Daylight savings time

The wording would be...

This user's time zone is TZ (UTC). S/He observes daylight savings time.
This user's time zone is EST (UTC-5). She observes daylight savings time.

After the pronoun there would be the possibility to add how the user feels about DST. What do you think? - LA @ 15:36, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure how you mean "how the user feels about DST" - whether someone observes it or not isn't a matter of personal choice. —Random832 15:59, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See User dst 2 and User dst 3. - LA @ 16:44, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
See User:Richwales/Userboxes/Timezone (and an example of its use on my user page). I added two optional parameters — #4 gives the DST time zone, and #5 gives a non-default link for the DST time zone. The expanded text for my case (US Pacific Time Zone) says: "This user's time zone is UTC-8 (UTC-7 in summer)." Richwales (talk) 04:23, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Check out Template:User time zone/DST and Template:User time zone/forced DST. 117Avenue (talk) 23:50, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I recreated these to display both the time and the zone - I should have noticed this template before and will consider merging them by adding a "display time and zone" feature. Feel free to do this for me if you find the time and have the skills - we'll need to code a lot of sub-templates to calculate the current daylight savings times.     — SkyLined {talkcontribs 23:25, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Update: watch icon[edit]

We finally have a vectorised image of the pocket watch: File:Pocket watch.svg Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 05:19, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This pic should replace File:Noia 64 apps xclock.png in the template, as requested since 2008. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 02:08, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Est. 2021: from here you can request an edit request. If you do not make an ER, it will not be done. Veverve (talk) 22:12, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Est. 2021: Also, you might want to request an SVG version of c:File:Wall clock.png which is also used in this template. Veverve (talk) 22:17, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 2 April 2021[edit]

We finally have a vectorised image of the pocket watch: File:Pocket watch.svg. This pic should replace File:Noia 64 apps xclock.png in the template, as requested since 2008. Thanks, Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 02:01, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonesey95: Thanks. Because of the different proportions, could you please also adjust the image size to x41px? Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 18:20, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 DoneJonesey95 (talk) 20:48, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jonesey95: Could you please fix it? It should be x41px, not 41px. Thank you, Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 01:14, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, so sorry. I think it's fixed now. – Jonesey95 (talk) 04:52, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Jonesey95: Yeah, perfect. Thank you very much. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 06:03, 4 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 17 August 2023[edit]

Change "File:Nuvola apps kworldclock.png" to "File:Nuvola apps kworldclock.svg".
In other words, use the vectorised version of the "World" icon in this template.

The vectorised version of the "World" icon.
