Template-protected edit request on 1 October 2019[edit]

Can you replace the current live version with the sandbox version. Which adds more parameters to the WikiProject. ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk (We are the champions, my friends) 17:47, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Question: have any of these changes been discussed with the WikiProject? You're not even listed as a member of this project. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:31, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. I'm not particularly comfortable with adding administrative load onto a WikiProject without such a consensus. Given CAPTAIN MEDUSA doesn't seem to be a member of the project, or edit articles in the project's area, I can't interpret a consensus for their request just yet. Discussion in progess. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Colombia. ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk (We are the champions, my friends) 12:25, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Member of the WikiProject have supported the changes.___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk (We are the champions, my friends) 11:39, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A few points:

  1. The class mask you are proposing does not do anything different to the current QUALITY_SCALE=extended so why change it?
  2. The syntax |NOTE_1=yes is incorrect. Please check the documentation for {{WPBM}}.
  3. The WikiProject seems to have no concept of "workgroups", so I am unsure what NOTE_4 is all about.

In summary there is no rationale presented for these changes, minimal discussion about them, and some incorrect code. I am declining this request at this time — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:40, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

MSGJ, your points have been addressed. The class mask now uses redirect, book, and needed. Note_1 has been fixed, and Note_4 is clearer now. ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk (We are the champions, my friends) 13:06, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you can show me a clear consensus of project members that they want to use Needed-Class I am not going to implement this. You haven't presented any rationale for these changes. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:28, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
MSGJ, Many articles at Category: NA-Class Colombia articles have been rated at "NA" due to template not recognizing the parameters i.e. Class=redirect, and featured media. After the change, it would automatically categorize them; which makes it easier to patrol through specific articles. ___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk (We are the champions, my friends) 19:39, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have gone and removed the needed the class. There is a consensus at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Colombia. I don't see any problems with this.___CAPTAIN MEDUSAtalk (We are the champions, my friends) 12:20, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Change "Colombia related" to "Colombia-related" i.e., add a hyphen. Parrotapocalypse (talk) 19:06, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
